Family Guide to Fun on the Gulf Coast
From Dauphin Island to Perdido Key

The beautiful Gulf Coast has an increasing number of family-friendly restaurants.   A few of our favorites for kids are listed below.  Please check back often as we add to our list!

200 East 25th Street, Gulf Shores, AL 36542 • 251-968-5732

Lulu's is always a huge hit with our family. We were lucky enough to be there with the kids when Jimmy Buffett performed.  In addition to yummy food and drinks, live music, and lots of space for kids to get sandy, Lulu's now offers a ropes course for kids 48" and taller (kids 44" to 47" can participate free with a paying adult).  For $12, your kids can stay up there as long as they want (our 11 and 13-year olds spent 45 min. climbing). The employees were incredibly helpful and encouraging.  Our 8-year-old decided she wasn't quite ready for it after all.  They cheerfully refunded our money (without us even asking!) and she shopped for a cute bracelet instead.  Even though it is clearly a big operation now, Lulu's retains its laid-back, friendly vibe (did I mention the food's great too!).

The Hangout
101 East Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores, AL 36542 • 251-948-3030

With food that appeals to kids and adults alike, we've found the Hangout to be a great multi-generational choice.  From live music and televised sports to a huge sand pile and a foam machine, there's something for everyone here.

Nolan's Restaurant

1154 West Beach Blvd., Gulf Shores, AL 36542 • 251-948-5300

At some point during your vacation stay, you are craving a more upscale dining experience, Nolan's is a great option for the whole family.  The patio provides a nice option if your children prefer a more casual setting.  Our kids enjoy the band if we happen to be there a little bit later.

Calypso Joe's
27075 Marina Rd, Orange Beach, AL 36561 • 251-981-1415

The Crab Trap Restaurant
16495 Perdido Key Dr., Pensacola, FL 32507 • 251-948-3030
